Pure Organic Skin Care
Shouldn’t skin care products should be high vibrational & health enhancing?
10 years ago I just wanted to have a go at making myself a lovely, pure nourishing cream. I wasn’t looking to start a business. That happened because what I wanted, so many other people were looking for too.
As a homeopath and after years of working at Neal’s Yard Remedies in Bristol, I knew that nature provides for us in the best of all possible ways. I also knew that if I used the best quality, high-vibrational ingredients, it would be reflected in the finished product.
At the heart of my products are the essential oils – these very high frequency, transformational plant juices are the expression of the healing life force of each plant. I feel absolutely passionate about them. I believe that they dance with our own life force to help us live to our full potential. Engaging with them every day by applying them to my skin is just magical!
My antique, treasured box of essential oils is akin to my Crown jewels. It is in this spirit that I use them in my products.
Each oil has its own unique role to play, on multiple levels. For instance:
• Sandalwood, Myrrh and Frankincense – all wonderful rejuvenating skin oils – are also traditionally used in sacred ceremony to quieten the mind and assist in contemplation, meditation and prayer practices.
• Rose oil – another very healing oil for the skin, especially mature skin -nourishes and heals the heart and its wounds. It helps us to recover our sense of emotional well-being and expands our ability to connect in love with ourselves as well as others.
So many of us under-value the power of scent and its role in expanding our consciousness. I love and regularly breathe deeply into the woody, resinous, complex fragrance of propolis*, that sits in a jar by my bed.
How natural is ‘natural’ and why are my products genuinely different?
Most ‘natural’ skin creams are not in reality as ‘natural’ or pure as you might hope. Legal restrictions and shelf-life considerations more often than not lead to the creation of products that are pristine white, denatured and devitalised.
Despite the challenges, I decided not to compromise or cut corners. I only use raw, organic, cold-pressed ingredients (with the exception of a very few of the most expensive essential oils). Nothing that has been bleached, deodorised, chemically extracted or refined in any way.
In other words, their nutrient profile is intact – minerals, vitamins, protective oils, healing energies.
• Raw cocoa butter for example, acts as a barrier to prevent moisture loss and helps to keep skin soft. It supports collagen production, helping to prevent wrinkles and stretch marks and improve tone and elasticity.
• Beeswax – my creams contain beeswax – deeply moisturising, protective, hydrating and skin softening.
• Rosehip seed oil is rich in Vitamin A as well as omega 3 and 6 fatty acids that help regenerate cellular membranes and tissue.
• Evening primrose oil has wonderful skin soothing and rejuvenating properties. It can reactivate cells into life and help them recover from environmental, weather and age-related damage. It improves the skin’s ability to retain moisture and absorb oxygen.
These are just some of the ingredients that I use in most of my products and all of my face creams. Nothing goes into my creams or oils that isn’t healing and beneficial in some way.
I wanted every ingredient that I used to benefit the user’s health. The bleaching, deodorizing, stabilizing and processing of plant oils and butters destroys vitality and therefore their healing potential. With the exception of a very few of the most expensive essential oils (which are still carefully sourced from the most reputable and reliable companies), everything I use is in its purest available form – organic and sometimes biodynamic. Anything short of that will clog the pores, age the skin and burden the organs.
‘My skin feels amazing and so soft!’ are the words I hear most often. ‘My blotches are fading and scars too!’ a new customer said recently after using Frankincense Nourishing Cream for a few weeks. ‘Your creams feel purer/better than (the top brand I’ve been using for years)’.
In truth, I can’t take much credit. It’s simple – if you use the very best of the most natural ingredients and combine them carefully, the best product will be the result. I feel so passionate about these beautiful creations and proud of them too! Most people seem to love them, and I get to share in their appreciation and joy.
Very occasionally one of our products develops a problem or doesn’t meet expectations despite careful use. In this case please get in touch and we will be happy to resolve it to your satisfaction.
I am in general a one-woman band, living amidst the wild beauty of the far north of Scotland. If I need more hands I can call on my adult children or husband to step in. As I write this, it is June and the wild roses are in riotous bloom along the edges of the beaches and sand-dunes and in the nearby nature reserve. When they are on the brink of dropping their velvety petals I have loved collecting and drying them and using them fresh to make macerated wild rose oil to use in some of my creams and oils very soon.
And all-natural perfumes lie just a little further down the windy lane….
