Iodine is an essential trace mineral – required for healthy thyroid function.

A low-functioning thyroid (often related to iodine deficiency) leads to a wide range of symptoms on the physical, mental and emotional levels, such as lethargy, oedema, hair thinning, dry skin, circulatory problems, brain fog, depression, low libido, breast cancer, miscarriage and fertility issues.

Our iodine reserves are easily depleted by stress, a poor diet and radiation (dental x-rays, mobile phones etc).

Other symptoms of iodine deficiency include chronic urinary tract infections, sinus infections, allergies, acne, ulcers, repeatedly catching colds and flu, bronchitis, pneumonia and laryngitis, a chronic cough, haemorrhoids, nail fungus and ingrown toenails.
